NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — Two western New York teenagers charged with beating a 46-year-old man to death with a golf club have pleaded not guilty.
The Buffalo News reports that 19-year-old Gary R. Llamas II and 17-year-old James S. Hardeman Jr. entered their plea Friday in Niagara Falls city court.
Police described the Monday beating of John Smith as a drug deal gone wrong. Police say the men are accused of using a putter to strike Smith in the head several times.
City Court Judge Robert P. Merino says the two men won't be allowed out on bail because of the seriousness of the charges.
